Herzliya, Tel Aviv -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/12/2014 -- With the Israeli Palestinian conflict flaring up once again, Author Yaron Levite is trying to challenge readers from both sides of the border to see an unbiased picture of those whom they call the enemy. By challenging both sides to help fund his latest novel in a community effort via Kickstarter, Levite hopes to spark mutual understanding.

With the Israeli Palestinian conflict flaring up once again, author Yaron Levite is trying to bring peace – by Kickstarter. The South African-Israeli author is the creator of THE MOHANDAS – an Israeli Palestinian thriller that takes place in two cities that are located only 10 miles away from each other, yet are worlds apart – Sderot and Gaza City. The novel challenges readers from both sides of the border to see an unbiased picture of those whom they call the enemy.

Says Levite: “I decided to challenge the world, see if people are willing to open up towards each other’s point of view, or will they continue to be entrenched in their own beliefs. I suppose I’ll know if I succeeded in creating a dialogue at the end of the campaign.

Yaron Levite is currently raising funds for the book publication via Kickstarter.com a website that allows readers to preorder the novel. With the funds raised Levite intends to hire top tier editor Alan Rinzler (Robert Ludlum, Clive Cussler and many others,) and to publish a first edition. Levite will be raising the funds needed in a 30 day campaign that ends on September 5th.

“The Mohandas is not a history book,” says Levite. “If you want to learn about the conflict you can easily find the hard facts in Wikipedia. The Mohandas is a very fast paced thriller, a book I hope readers will not want to put down. But – there is a purpose to the novel. I want the readers to understand that in the end – the conflict is first and foremost between individuals on both sides of the border. People who made mistakes, people who were raised on a strict and uncompromising set of beliefs. It is a book about the courage to reevaluate what you were taught to believe in.”
