Arlington, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/21/2015 -- To mark the National Alopecia Month, Dr. Linda Amerson hosted the 2nd Cruise with a Purpose. The annual event was tremendous success and sailed Saturday, September 26, 2015. The event was successfully held second year in a row and received praise and appreciation from all those who attended the event in 2015. The event was held on the Silver Lake Marina 'Tejas Yacht' on the beautiful Lake Grapevine, Grapevine TX from 8pm-11pm CST.
Dr. Amerson initiated the cruise and welcomed the guests with a heartfelt welcoming speech which was followed by viewing of the official 'Cruise with a Purpose' music video which was loved by the guests. Jivani was the winner of alopecia essay contest, she is s attending the University of Texas at San Antonio and was therefore invited to attend the sunset dinner cruise with her parents, where she was awarded the $400 scholarship.

The successful event also featured a brief power point presentation was shared of before and after alopecia success cases. Guests were also educated about Dr. Amerson's Therapeutic Essentials which were also displayed on an eye catching product table with table centerpieces that were designed with the collaborative effort of Denise Howard and Dr. Amerson. The said table center pieces depicted male and female heads, 13 uniquely designed to coincide with the alopecia awareness theme in the color scheme of royal blue and silver. The center pieces were given names of deceased family members and close friends as a sign of love and remembrance.
The dinner was prepared by Charissa Singleton of C & T Devine Specialties, while drink choices of water, tea, beer, and wine were served. The dessert: homemade tea cake cookies were sponsored by Letecia Ross. A fashion show also took place during the event for which eight beautiful models showcased the original designs of Deidre Hardin of Copper Signatures, Marquett Smith of Jecour' Couture and Andre Terry of IMT Designs. Finnaly swag bags were presented to the guests.
Furthermore, rising artist Lady Soul also performed her 'Lady Soul Slide' song, and Dr. Amerson performed her theme song 'Cruise With A Purpose.'
In addition, Dr. Amerson will be hosting an 'Appreciation Reception' Sunday, October 25, 2015 for those who missed the dinner cruise. Tickets for the event can be purchased for $10 per person. The event will be held at LA's Hair & Scalp Clinic, 2304 W. Pioneer Pkwy, #6, Arlington, 76013, from 05:00 - 6:30 pm. Guest will be able to meet and greet the fashion designers, artist Lady Soul and Dr. Amerson.
