Eby Exteriors, Inc. Selected to Renovate Historic Pennsylvania Property

Developer Manbel Devco chose Eby Exteriors, Inc. to renovate the historic David M. Mayer house in Manheim Township.

Akron, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/11/2017 -- Eby Exteriors, Inc. of Lancaster County, PA will conduct the renovation of the historic David M. Mayer house in Manheim Township near the new Whole-Food Anchored Shoppes at Belmont shopping center. The project will prevent the demolition of the home, a likely candidate for the National Register of Historic Places. Eby Exteriors, Inc. recently received the prestigious assignment to restore the exterior of the lovely farmhouse, which dates from the period between 1870 and 1874. Tentative plans are for the home to be used for professional offices

Manco Devco selected Eby Exteriors, Inc., a local Lancaster County firm, based on the company's extensive experience as a home remodeling contractor and replacement windows installer. The Akron-based contractor possesses expertise in exterior remodeling and restoration. During the roughly four-month long project, Eby Exteriors, Inc. anticipates repairing the large covered porch, masonry work, restoring the beautiful woodwork, repainting the exterior as well as replacing all of the windows with architecturally appropriate Marvin wood windows.

The historic David M. Mayer home serves as a cornerstone for the much-anticipated shopping center project. The new complex sits directly across the road from the former farmhouse. Developer Manbel Devco expects the retail center to open for business sometime during the first half of 2018. A new Home2Suites by Hilton will open next to the restored David M. Mayer house.

Eby Exteriors enjoys considerable experience refurbishing the exterior of homes in this region of Pennsylvania. The company routinely installs energy-efficient replacement windows, decks, siding, doors, roofs and gutters for customers in the Lancaster area. The David M. Mayer house would present a challenge to many contractors: it includes a total of 63 distinctive windows and a broad covered porch extending across some 4,000 square feet!

Drawings of the original Mayer house remain available to guide the renovations. The stately home today occupies a 5.4 acre tract. The project developer purchased the farm some eight years ago and seeks to preserve the farmhouse for the benefit of future generations.
