Norristown, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/11/2014 -- The winter provides temperatures where kids and families will want to spend their time indoors. For those children who have winter birthdays, and parents are looking for unique and entertaining things to do with kids in Bucks County, PA, Elmwood Park Zoo is announcing they are opening an all-new outdoor ice skating rink. The zoo will host birthday parties on the ice, as well as provide a platform where kids can stay active as the temperatures drop. The ice was rented and is maintained by Artificial Ice Events, the largest synthetic ice rental company in the nation.
The skating rink will open on November 28, and will be accessible for skating five days per week until January 31. Every Monday and Tuesday the rink will be closed, and birthday parties can be reserved during Saturday and Sunday hours only. Parties must have a minimum of 10 attendants to reserve the rink for a two-hour skating session, and they must not exceed 50 guests. Make the reservation at least two weeks in advance, and enjoy time spent on the ice for an extremely reasonable rate.
For just $19.95 per person, parties will receive admission to the Zoo, reserved space at the outdoor picnic tables, a birthday cake, and a two-hour session on the ice with skate rental included. When looking to add food to the package (pizza, chips, and juice) it is an extra $2 and the party is just $21.95 per person.
Through the days that the skating rink is open, there are various two-hour sessions that the space stays open. Birthday parties can be reserved for the time slots of 1-3 pm or 3:30-5:30 pm. On Fridays and Saturdays, when searching for fun things to do in Bucks County with the family or with friends, the rink is open until 10:30 pm.
