LA Dye and Print now sells organic fabric, certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) which essentially means the materials come from soil that is not exposed to harmful pesticides. This move is sure to be immediately popular, as many companies are trying to improve their green image and are looking for providers who grow organically. LA Dye and Print is a company that not only sells fabric, but provides dyeing services for the fabrics they sell and for ones that are brought to them. They also print textiles on fabric their customers bring to them.

"We are really expanding our reach with this new endeavor," said general manager Sam Oweida. Since the company’s original iteration as a wash house in 1993, it has grown leaps and bounds into a multi-faceted business with an abundant number of customers. "Twenty percent of our business comes from big clothing companies," he continued, "Thirty percent is from smaller retailers. The other fifty percent comes from converters, or people that purchase their fabric elsewhere and have us dye and print it. They then turn and re-sell it. With us providing an organic option, we see a huge spike in large companies looking to sustain a green image and small retailers that are environmentally-conscious."

LA Dye and Print was established in 1993 as a wash-house and began adding other features, such as bleaching and stone washing denim. From that point, they incorporated knits into their menu of expert washing and bleaching, but decided to begin dyeing. This step happened in 2000, and they quickly added printing in 2002.
