Brooklyn, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/19/2016 -- Exquisite Corpse Company, a Brooklyn-based, integrated performance art collective, presents a new performance and art installation called The Enchanted Realm of Rene Magritte, inspired by the work of surrealist painter, René Magritte premiering August 6th and running every Saturday and Sunday through September 25, 2016 at House 17 at Nolan Park Governors Island in New York City.

Inspired by the work of surrealist painter, The Enchanted Realm of Rene Magritte will feature performance and installation set in an 8 room mansion on Governors Island. An original immersive experience, The Enchanted Realm of Rene Magritte is directed by Tess Howsam (Secession 2015, Odd.A.See) with art direction by Bibiana (007, Romeo+Juliet, Inferno) and features a team of eight playwrights, a multi-talented group of actors, and collaborations with other Governors Island resident organizations - Billion Oyster Project & Creative Movement. Exquisite Corpse is happy to hold your hand as you take a dip, then a dive, then a plunge into The Enchanted Realm of, well, you know who.

Center to the performance is one house, belonging to one René Magritte, surrealist, painter, philosopher, lover, cowboy, tree, and much more. Patrons are encouraged to swim on down and enjoy a guided tour of the great man's mind, run their fingers along the dust of his memories, appraise the net worth of his melancholy heart -- with the aid of his wife, his lover, his wife's lover, his mother, and a fish.
