Fantasy Box Set Entices New Readers

Attracted by a $0.99 preorder price, readers at Kindle, Nook and iBooks are buying the Beginnings Box Set: Three Fantasy Series Starters by Tracy Falbe. The low promotional preorder price remains available until the ebook box set is released on Saturday, Sept. 6.

Battle Creek, MI -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/03/2014 -- For the past two weeks preorders have been rolling in at Kindle and iBooks for the Beginnings Box Set: Three Fantasy Series Starters by Tracy Falbe. And now the ebook box set that contains the fantasy novels Rys Rising, Union of Renegades, and Werelord Thal is available for preorder at the Nook store too.

On Sept. 6, all preorders at the three ebook retailers will be fulfilled automatically and delivered to the reading devices of the people who bought the box set during the preorder promotion.

The preorder sale price remains in effect this week at the following retailers:

Apple iBooks
Nook
Kindle US
Kindle Canada
Kindle UK
Kindle Australia
Kindle Germany
Kindle France

After the release date, the author Tracy Falbe will be raising the price to reflect the value of the three novels in the collection.

The collection begins with the 175,000-word epic fantasy Rys Rising: Book I. On its own the novel has six 5-star ratings at iBooks and a 4.5 star average at Kindle and Nook.

Next comes the 180,000-word Union of Renegades: The Rys Chronicles Book I. This epic fantasy is the first novel published by Falbe in 2006. Its strong themes and provocative twists on genre formulas have earned it 5-star praise and 1-star hate from readers.

Of Union of Renegades, Falbe said, “The novel has gotten mixed reactions over the years, but for some people it clicks. I have readers who love it and go on and buy all my other novels.”

The third book in the collection is her newest novel Werelord Thal: A Renaissance Werewolf Tale. In this novel Falbe took the folklore of 16th century Europe and made it real in an adventure set in 1561 Bohemia.

“Werelord Thal was hard for me to classify at the ebook retailers because there is no category for books set in the Renaissance. But I’m an indie author and I seem to always be working off the reservation, so to speak,” Falbe said.

In the few reviews Werelord Thal has earned in the Kindle and Nook stores, it has been praised for its historical detail and fresh interpretation of werewolf legends.

“Thal is a werewolf hero. He kills people but only those who deserve it. The novel is about many things, but essentially it explores how Thal integrates his animal instincts and intelligence into his human side. His animal self acts as a mirror to the viciousness of human society, illustrated in the brutal era of torture that unfolded during the Renaissance,” Falbe explained.

The Beginnings Box Set: Three Fantasy Series Starters lets readers begin all three of the fantasy series written by Falbe. The Rys Rising series and The Rys Chronicles are completed series, so readers who like the first books can dive into the rest of the saga right away.

Werelord Thal has become the first book in the Werewolves in the Renaissance series that will continue in the second installment Journey of the Hunted, scheduled for release this November. Werelord Thal, however, can be enjoyed as a stand-alone novel.
