Experts review latest uses of excess body fat for facial rejuvenation and body sculpting
Edmonton, AB -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/22/2015 -- Fat injection sculpting is a term used to describe a process where a person's excess body fat is harvested, usually whilst doing a lipo-sculpture procedure. It is processed and then it can be injected back into the face or body and used as a natural filler. It is a process that has developed over the last few years, particularly in terms of knowledge, technique, success rates and results, and these are reviewed this week on Inside Cosmetic Surgery Today on webtalkradio.net, when show host, Edmonton Cosmetic Dermatologist Dr Barry Lycka talks with Dr Lyle Back, board certified plastic surgeon from Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
In this in-depth interview, Dr Lycka & Dr Back begin with a discussion about the benefits of using fat in cosmetic procedures and how the appreciation for fat has changed over the years, and the knowledge of how to use it successfully has developed. They then talk about what happens with the face as we age, and how using fat as a natural filler can be a successful facial rejuvenation technique, with not only a natural shape and volume being achieved but the skin also benefits from the fat and looks very healthy afterwards.
They then highlight that fat can also be used as a natural filler in body areas as an alternative to using implants. Dr Lycka explains the SVELT procedure (Small Volume Elective Lipo Transfer) that he has developed with Dr Daryl Hoffman where small volumes of fat are injected over several sessions to slowly augment the breasts. They are presenting their results to the World Congress of Dermatology in Vancouver in June 2015. Finally they discuss the growth and popularity of the natural buttock augmentation procedure where once again fat is used to augment the buttock area rather than using silicone implants.
