Gili Islands, Indonesia -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/18/2015 -- Although the February Instructor Development Course (IDC) starts on 20th February candidates are strongly advised to arrive early to take advantage of the free pre-IDC preparation starting on 15th of February.

Feburary 20th Feb - 01st Mar (Pre-IDC 15th - 19th Feb)

The February pre-IDC program starts on February 15th and is a series of workshops designed to refresh and review skills and knowledge learnt during the Divemaster program and to prepare candidates for a smooth transition into the actual PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC)

The February PADI IDC Gili Islands Instructor Development Course starts February 20th at Trawangan Dive; the first PADI 5 Star IDC Career Development Center (CDC) established within the Lombok and Gili Islands area. The course runs on an 11 day schedule and teaches candidates to a level way over and above that generally expected within the dive industry. The course covers a number of topics including those required by the PADI IDC syllabus and a number of additional topics added by the Course Director and the GoPro Gili Team.

During the program candidates will study the applicable PADI Standards and Procedures, Risk Management, Sales & Marketing and the Business of Diving. Other workshops include Adventures in Diving, Controlled Emergency Assents and Descents, Dive Site Setup and Student Control. Candidates will also study the conduct and organization of all PADI Programs including Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) program, PADI Specialty Courses, the Rescue Diver and Divemaster Course. Another major component of the course is learning how to deliver the PADI educational system in a fun and easy to understand way to future students. This is done through the knowledge development and in water presentation development components of the course.
