Jacksonville, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/22/2016 -- The new polymer £5 notes made using incredibly thin and flexible plastic have now been released and are in circulation throughout England and Wales, and in line this with the BBC have revealed five things that everyone should know about these new and improved notes. These are as follows:
1. The new polymer notes are marginally smaller than the existing paper £5 notes and they utilise new, innovative security features which have been designed with the intention to make them harder to copy.
2. The new notes will be cleaner, and last longer that the old ones. People in London have already been trying to damage these notes, and failing whilst documenting their attempts to pour water on them, tear them and more. They are incredibly tough.
3. The old paper £5 notes can still be used as normal however The Bank of England are going to be gradually withdrawing them as businesses and people pay them into banks.
4. £10 polymer notes are set to be released in the summer of next year and if things go to plan the £20 polymer notes should be here at 2020.
5. Already over thirty countries worldwide are taking advantage of polymer bank notes, including but not limited to New Zealand, Australia and Canada.
A spokesperson from dominating supplier and installer of sophisticated security products in the UK Associated Security was keen to comment on the arrival of the new notes saying, "Although to the general public the release of these new notes probably seems quite exciting, with many attempting to get their hands on one ASAP, for businesses a few problems could arise. For example businesses that use machines to recognise deposited notes could now have to update their machines. Luckily for these people here at Associated Security we offer a wide range of polymer ready cash management solutions which are ideal for a vast array of uses – these can all be found on our website."
