Founder Malin Hess and Team Seek Support via Indiegogo to Save Children from Water Borne Illness

In the twenty-first century children are still dying from water-born illnesses. The DeviClear Purifier is one of the ways we plan to stop this.

Gotha, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/18/2014 -- Even in the 21st century, 4,000 children under five years old are still dying in the world every day from water-born illnesses. Human beings can create this wonderful world of technology, yet they can't lift those suffering out of poverty.

The first goal of this project is to provide clean drinking water for those in dire need of it. The DeviClear Purifier which uses an activated charcoal filter along with a short wave germicidal UV light, plus a portable solar powered charging kit is the solution.

Remember, these water purifiers are for everyone, especially for those traveling or camping out in the bush.

Activated charcoal is a carbon that has been treated with oxygen. The treatment results in a highly porous charcoal. These tiny holes give the charcoal a surface area of 300 - 2,000 m2/g, allowing liquids or gases to pass through the charcoal and interact with the exposed carbon. The carbon adsorbs a wide range of impurities and contaminants, including chlorine, odors, and pigments.

The treatment of water with short wave germicidal UV light possesses by far the greatest germicidal effectiveness of all ultraviolet wavelengths. This exceeds U.S. EPA guide standards and protocols for destroying over 99.9999% of bacteria, 99.99% of viruses and 99.9% of protozoan cysts. The wavelength range is 2000 to 2950 (Angstrom units) which disrupts the DNA within the bacteria, virus and protozoa rendering them ineffective and, therefore, harmless.

Funds raised from Indiegogo will pay for travel, works/looks like prototype, mechanical and electrical Breadboard prototypes, tooling, sales samples, product qualification samples, agency, and third party testing.

This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its goal. Funding duration: February 05, 2014 - March 24, 2014 (11:59pm PT).
