Founders of Federal Donuts to Talk Kickstarter on BetterWorldians Radio

Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook to discuss plans for Rooster Soup Co.

Phoenix, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/17/2014 -- BetterWorldians Radio today announced that Federal Donuts founders Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook will be guests on the Internet radio broadcast on Thursday, July 17th at 11 a.m. Eastern Time on the VoiceAmerica Variety Channel (BetterWorldiansRadio.com).

BetterWorldians Radio is a weekly show that inspires with the people and ideas that are making the world a better place.

Solomonov and Cook will discuss their current Kickstarter Campaign to help fund a new restaurant, Rooster Soup Co., which will benefit the hungry in Philadelphia. The idea is to use leftover chicken from the popular Federal Donuts to make chicken soup at Rooster Soup Co. All profits from Rooster Soup Co. will be donated to Broad Street Ministry, a broadminded faith community committed to extending radical hospitality to all of Philadelphia. Reverend Andy Greenhow will also appear on the show to talk about the campaign.

"What we’re hoping is that Philadelphia embraces this very unique model, whereby if you’re walking by somebody on the street in Philadelphia and you see them down and out, and struggling and you don’t know what to do, if the Rooster Soup Company were to exist, you could, by your purchasing power, help that person just by ordering lunch,” said Broad Street Ministry's Bill Golderer.

BetterWorldians Radio cohost Gregory Hansell said, “We are excited to help Michael, Steve, and Andy get the word out about their wonderful Kickstarter Campaign to fund Rooster Soup Co. As a long time fan of Federal Donuts, I’m personally backing the campaign. They are making a difference in the lives of others in such a unique way and we believe our listeners will really enjoy hearing about it and will enjoy the delicious food as well.”
