Funds for Duchenne UK Are Raised by London Stone

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/25/2017 -- London Stone, a leading UK supplier of bespoke natural stone, are currently on a mission to raise as much money as possible for Duchenne UK. This is in memory of their friend Karl Kuhwald who died of cancer leaving his wife, and four young sons behind. One of his sons – Felix, was diagnosed with the disease (Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy) in 2013. This disease affects mainly young boys which wastes away their muscles, which then causes mobility issues.

London Stone regularly raise money for the charity and this year they decided to choose April 10th, which was the nearest working day to Kuhwald's birthday. London Stone have planned to reach a £30,000 target in total, and so far they have held three events. The event which was held on April 10th raised a massive £5,500, not to mention London Stone also pledged to donate 10% of their turnover on the day.

The funds are said to go far as CEO of Duchenne UK, Emily Crossley, said that this year all the money raised will go towards clinical tests of repurposed drugs and a clinical research hub for the co-ordination of information and trials.

A spokesperson from the company was keen to comment saying, "This is something very close to all of our hearts here at London Stone and it was important to us raise as much money as possible for the charity which affects Felix. So far our events have raised thousands and with our recent event we're happy to announce that we're well over half way to reach our target which is £30,000."
