Sacramento, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/03/2014 -- Art can take the form of many mediums. One artist has a vision to combine mediums to take her art gallery and custom framing store to the next level. To that end, she has launched an unusual Kickstarter campaign that re-purposes an historic Sacramento County building into an art space that gives back to the community by promoting art and artists across the Delta region. Forming the basis of this campaign is the art form 'collage', which she is using to get the community involved in the project by sending in their own pieces for the collage. Collage is the artist technique used within the visual arts creating an entirely new piece of artwork from an assemblage of different forms and items. Artist Donna Anderson chose this art technique to represent the diverse community she hopes will come together to make this Kickstarter project a success.
About Crazy By Design
The Walnut Grove based Crazy by Design Custom Framing and Fine Art Gallery is behind this art project which, in addition to exhibiting an eclectic mix of art and artists of multiple mediums, offers full service custom framing and artist support. Together with her husband and partner, Multimedia artist Christopher Anderson, they intend to use the Kickstarter investment to move the framing workshop to its own space to accommodate more artists in the gallery. They will also build a small stage, benches and café tables with chairs to facilitate events held in the gallery such as classes, music, readings and more.
Funding will be used to repair the vandalized neon on the historic Ben's Drug signs, install track lighting, make general repairs, add seating, and a small stage. Those who pledge to this project will be rewarded with a hand-signed print of the final rendering of the collage in various sizes and all are welcome to join us for the First Friday Oktoberfest Kickstarter Celebration.
