Porto, Portugal -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/07/2014 -- Hush draws its inspiration from fears, particularly those people have all experienced when they were young. They will play as Ashlyn, a little girl who finds herself trapped in a mysterious orphanage. This beautiful and dark scenery hosts the extraordinary events that will jeopardize her safety. Nothing is quite as it seems on first glance. Strange beasts, tormented souls and mysterious characters. All preying on her fears, to ensure she never finds a way out.
Hush portraits a compelling story with a thick plot. GAME STUDIO 78 only wants to deliver a nice, polished experience. Therefore, they split the main plot in three episodes. Each episode translates into a game comprised of three fears (chapters). Every episode features three different chapters, each with their own different challenges. They will demand from the player a varied set of skills strictly tied with the fear portrayed in that chapter.
Hush is an action adventure game focused on story and characters. The gameplay was designed in a way players, both casual and hardcore, could easily relate to. The goal is to make players struggle to beat the game, not their hardware.
In Hush life is replaced by courage, which grows as you defeat enemies. If Ashlyn is brave enough, she can defend herself more effectively, if not, she panics and becomes vulnerable. Courage also works as experience points which can in turn be used the improve skills and weapons.
The camera is isometric and the whole interface and interaction are designed so that the game can behave equally in all the different platforms we are developing for: PC/Mac, Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, IOS, Android and Windows Phone 8.
We are also implementing a feature that enables cross-platform communication and saving. Players can play the game on any device and resume the saved state on any other device they bought the game for.
Game development is an expensive activity. GAME STUDIO 78 wants to make Hush a great game. So far they’ve all committed their hearts and talent to the project, but that alone is not enough to produce an A-class game. They need to pay for further licensing, accelerate development with a bigger team, improve overall quality with even more assets and create material to promote the game.
