Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/15/2015 -- Charlie Botts is the founder of Garden Guru Lawn and Garden Tools which markets a small line of carefully selected quality garden tools online. He is a Florida-born American who has lived his entire life near the ocean and developed a love of surfing. On one of his many surf trips he met "the girl", a champion surfer and professional model from Panama, and decided to make Panama home.
Charlie was born in Pensacola, Florida, with the right genes for retailing garden tools. Many throughout his family made successful careers from agriculture and landscaping. Home gardens, plenty of yard work and part time jobs at plant nurseries and landscape companies were a part of his growing up.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at the University of Florida in Gainesville for help in the business world and briefly worked as a real estate agent in Pensacola.
Learning to surf at the age of 14 on the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, Charlie spent almost all of his free time chasing waves. Charlie describes his passion for surfing…"it's great, the constant contact with nature while in the ocean, one really feels alive in the saltwater. Clean fresh ocean air, sunshine and adrenaline pumping exercise, surfing is rejuvenating for the mind, body and spirit."
While on one of his surfing trips to Panama, Charlie met Sonia "Pucha" Garcia, winner of the Bronze medal in the 2012 ISA World Masters Surfing Championships and 10X Panamanian Women's Surfing Champion. Pucha is known throughout Latin America for both her surfing and her beauty. Today Charlie, Pucha, her teenage son Kalani and their young son Natan live in the small town of Pedasi, which is becoming known internationally as a retirement destination.
When he first moved to Panama, Charlie drew upon his real estate experience gained in the U.S. to invest in a hilly deforested cattle ranch which he developed into custom home parcels. He led a reforesting project of over 5000 trees, spending thousands of personal hours pruning and maintaining the young orchard of native fruit and hardwood species.
This experience was a big factor in his decision to create a brand and sell garden tools online. After years of pruning and shaping a young developing tropical forest, selection of a hand-held bypass pruner as the first product for Garden Guru Lawn and Garden Tools came naturally.
