German Engineering Team Launches Indiegogo to Create Robots

Ultimate Robot Kit Great Learning Experience

Berlin, Germany -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/22/2014 -- What if building a robot was as easy as building something from Lego®? That's the question a German engineering team asked themselves and now they've launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise funding to finish production and start distribution on their answer – CAGEBOT.

CAGEBOT is the ultimate robot kit. After 3 years of research and development, CAGEBOT is now a fully functional prototype. Using the specially created bricks that come with CAGEBOT, the possibilities of designs are only as limited as one's imagination. Testing has yielded robots, 3D printers, bridges, towers, buildings and a small fully automated factory. The team working on this believes in education and found this educational solution an investment in the future of robotics and automation.

Funds raised with this campaign will be used for creating the molding forms and the first batch of bricks and for the start of the printed circuit board production. In addition to further testing, it will be used to achieve the required CE or UL certification goals.

Angel investors helping fund the production of CAGEBOT will be eligible for perks such as thank yous, a mini bricks set, be entered in a drawing to win a CAGEBOT, a medium bricks set, a motion set, a detection set, a CAGEBOT controller, a creation bricks set, a CAGEBOT DIY kit, and multiple Ultimate Edition, Educational Edition or Supporter Edition version kits.

The team also understands not everyone may be able to give money to help CAGEBOT, so they ask that those who cannot give monetarily help by spreading the word about CAGEBOT online through social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr or record a video challenge for Vine, Facebook or Instagram to invite friends to give to or share this Indiegogo fundraiser. They should include #CAGEBOT in all posts.
