Florissant, MO -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/24/2014 -- While the horror genre has long been a staple of the literary landscape, both readers and critics alike are currently crying out for wholly-unique new narratives that don’t succumb to recycling of the ‘same-old’ concepts. Thankfully, author Aaron Bayscaplous is bucking the trend with gusto, announcing the release of a terrifying book of short stories unlike anything readers have read or witnessed before.

‘Glimpses of Horror’ will have readers afraid to turn out the light, as seemingly-normal situations become murderous, bloody and less than mortal.

Synopsis:

A collection of unique horror stories: A burglar is stalked by a living darkness that is hungry for flesh, a 180 lb. scavenger evolves from grave robbing and eating the dead to eating fresh meat!

We are nothing more than books to the inhabitance of the 4th dimension, our life's are not lived until a reader opens our book. Just like the 3rd dimension, there are evil readers; who can manipulate matter. Automatic writing leads a couple into unspeakable terror. There are no vampires, werewolves, or zombies in this collection of the macabre, only horror...

The grim trinity entices a down-trodden school janitor into a self destructive spiral into the macabre, Automatic writing leads a couple into unfathomable fear, Letters appear out of nowhere offering wonderful vacations that soon turn darker ,more demanding, and more frightening, a burglar is confronted by a living darkness that is hungry, and much more.

“We live in a time where people think that the only way to produce horror is to fill it will zombies and other strange creatures. Excuse my pun, but it’s been done to death and it is time the market had something fresh to chew on,” explains the author. “That’s why all of my stories happen in very vivid and real situations, to people that are just like you and I. It just goes to show that you never know what or who is lurking.”

Continuing, “The entire traditional horror concept is based off telling a story that could first appear to be true, until something unexpected jumps out to make the protagonist’s day turn very bad, and possibly end their life. It’s this sudden jump from the normal to the extreme that makes things scary.”

Bayscaplous is also passionate about the short story format.

“Out of all literary genres, horror has a bad reputation for big, thick and long-winded books that often just repeat themselves. Each of my eleven short stories is extremely brief, which gives readers an intense twenty-minutes of reading before everything ends and they are left to contemplate the results. It’s powerful stuff,” he adds.

About Aaron Bayscaplous
"My mother Lucille Carlson raised me on horror movies, so it was a natural evolution to write- out the stupid things that the actors do; like, “Is somebody there?”

I began writing in prison, because there is nothing offered to help get jobs upon release.

I hope everyone enjoys my prose and impatiently awaits my next book, The Harbinger."
