Bonded abrasives are in various shapes such as wheels, segments, sticks, and many other. Bonded abrasives are divided into vitrified, rubber products and thin wheels and are manufactured by mixing grains with bonding material, molding them to shape and then subjecting the output to firing or baking in high temperature and finishing the same to desired dimensions.

Bonded abrasives contain abrasive grains held together in a form of resin, glass, rubber, or other materials and used as grinding wheels and stones and sticks forms. They are used to remove surface materials such as metal, ceramics, glass, plastics, and paint. Bonded abrasives found in various type according to their requirement such as depressed center wheels, cup-shaped wheels, recessed or relieved, wheels, tapered body wheel. Cup-Shaped Wheels type bonded abrasives applications include weld removal, flame-cut grinding, flash, and gate and riser removal. Recessed Or Relieved, Wheels used in Suitable for all metal cutting applications. Examples includes sheet metal cutting, pipe and rods sectioning, Gate removal and tapered body wheel have a thicker cross-section at the bore, which becomes thinner or tapers toward the outer diameter.
