High-Income Earners Bet on the Housing Market's Recovery: Leicestershire Estate Agency

Leicestershire, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/09/2013 -- At the forefront of Britain’s economic recovery sits the housing market, which is poised to return to pre-crash levels according to Ernst and Young ITEM Club and the Telegraph. Rising prices on real estate throughout the country is benefiting the economic recovery as a whole by stimulating spending, and for the first time in years, letting agencies are seeing an increase in people buying their first rental properties.

"We’ve definitely noticed an increase in interest toward our property management services. Interestingly enough, much of it came from individuals who were looking into purchasing real estate rather than those who already owned some,” said the Director of My Happy Move, a Leicestershire-based letting agency recognised by The Property Ombudsman Scheme for Lettings Agents and the United Kingdom Association of Lettings Agents.

If experts’ forecasts are correct, those purchasing real estate now are making a more-than-pragmatic decision; housing prices are set to rise 2.1, 5 and 6 percent respectively over the next three years. As the value of real estate rises, landlords earn equity and are able to charge more for rent.

"I called My Happy Move to inquire about property management services when I was planning on buying a house – as a professional, I simply don’t have the time to be a landlord as well," explained Mark Jacobs, a solicitor from Leicestershire, "but I wanted to take advantage of the low prices and make an investment in my future."

Jacobs eventually purchased a new home through a mortgage sourced by My Happy Move and is using them to let his property. Others are also choosing the same kind of hands-free process, citing benefits such as My Happy Move’s free boiler breakdown cover and rental guarantee insurance along with the currently low prices as an opportunity that’s too good to pass up.

"Since ITEM and other experts forecasted the housing market’s rapid growth over the next few years, we’ve heard from several people like [last name] who were interested in using our services to let their properties. The housing market is always a gamble, but we’re working hard to make sure purchasing and letting through our company is a safe bet," said a MyHappyMove representative.
