Hire Yourself Incorporated's Strong Shoulders Award

 

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/08/2015 -- Finding jobs that provide artist with an income that pays enough to maintain housing, food, transportation, health care and other anticipated living cost are rare. The pressure from unemployment and under employment deliver a serious blow to the artist's self- esteem. He/she is subject to not only abandon passion for their artistry but too often this humiliation encourages them to give up on life.

This problem is being addressed by Hire Yourself INC. a Non Profit committed to assisting these uniquely talented persons broaden their understanding of the limitless possibilities of achieving economic stability as they continue to express their artistry.

"Seeing is believing!" The Strong Shoulders Award commemorates achievements accomplished by persons who refused to be halted by incredible personal obstacles, who utilize their talents and skills to serve the needs of others. Their stories are a bridge connecting seekers of a renewed self-esteem with hope and inspiration. This award allows us to demonstrate gratitude for good citizenship and encourage the continuance of community activism.

This year's Strong Shoulder's Award recipients: R. Byron Stringer, whose brother's life was taken by gun violence is a retired Metro police officer, creator and producer of the 'Toe Tag Monologues' a theatrical production that visits, schools, jails and other institutions addressing tough issues facing our young people.

Lillian McMorris, a cancer survivor, author, media consultant, Lillian McMorris is the former KVVU TV FOX5 Public Affairs Director and Producer/Host of A. M. Southern Nevada, the longest running Public Affairs Television Show in the State of Nevada. Ms. McMorris serves as an advocate for many Non Profit organizations and continues the fight to end child abuse and neglect a passion fueled by her personal story as an adopted child.

Chris 'Equality' Miller, first openly Gay Clark County Democratic Chair, former president of the Nevada Stonewall Democrats, Chris worked tirelessly seeking Nevada marriage equality. Mr. Miller continues to push the need for greater protections for our children against school bullies and fights for the employment, housing and health care needs of all Clark county residents without regard of race, color, creed, religion or sexual orientation.
