Jonesboro, AR -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/06/2017 -- Hytrol worked with integration partner, Conveyor Solutions, to provide Edward Don & Company with a solution to handle over 12,000 items within their Illinois distribution center. To view the case study video, go to: http://bit.ly/1Mv0Mk8
Compared to the old facility, the new facility in Woodridge, IL is 55,000 square feet larger in space with increased ceiling clearance. With the taller ceilings and facility's design, this allowed for Hytrol and Conveyor Solutions to design a material handling solution that could accommodate the increase in cubic space, which increased the overall storage capacity. By increasing the capacity, Edward Don & Company's new facility can store twice as many reserve pallets, while picking and shipping up to six times more product using new picking methods thanks to the new system.
After the initial walk-through to determine the right solution for the new facility, Conveyor Solutions recommended Edward Don & Company's team visit the Hytrol Technology Center in Jonesboro, AR to test the more unique products at the center's automated system. By seeing the efficient automated test system in action, Edward Don & Company's team was able to witness the results in person and discuss the benefits of new industry leading techniques as well.
"The time and commitment that Hytrol put forth allowed us to test these materials. That in and of itself was critical point in the discussion and the decision. They were really interested in my opinion and that's why I felt comfortable going with Hytrol," noted Mark Zabloudil, Edward Don's Vice President of Operations.
