Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/17/2014 -- Rogers Auto Group, premier Hyundai dealers Chicago residents can rely on, is continuing its commitment to community this summer. The long-established group of dealerships, specializing in used cars in the Chicago area, is sponsoring not one, but two Little League teams through the McGuane Bridgeport Baseball League (MBBL).
Recently, team members and sponsors took part in an event at U.S. Cellular Field. Approximately 400 Chicago youths were able to go onto the field, take a few hits in the batting cages, tour locker rooms and the bullpen, as well as the rest of the stadium. The certified used cars Chicago area dealer Rogers Auto Group brought 25 youths from their dealership to the event to participate.
This year the company has donated $1,000 as part of its sponsorship of the two Little League teams they are currently involved with. This is nothing unusual for the Rogers dealerships, which began in Chicago in 1943 with pre owned cars Chicago. Over the years, the organization has expanded from the first dealership – Rogers Auto Sales, on Michigan Avenue— to four showrooms focusing on Chevrolet, GMC, Hyundai and Buick dealers in Chicago.
“Rogers Auto Group was founded as a family business, and supporting the youths of our community is something that the company has always been passionate about,” said Monty Scher, the son of co-founder Roger Scher. “We like seeing the kids have a good time on the field, and one way we can help is to support their teams.”
As part of the sponsorship, Rogers Auto Group’s name is featured on the teams’ uniforms; promotional support for sponsors is also provided during games, in programs and on the league’s web site.
The McGuane Bridgeport Baseball League offers opportunities to learn baseball skills and play, for the youngest – tee ball players aged 4-6 – to teams for minors (ages 8-10) and majors (players ages 8-11). There’s also the Colt Summer League for players aged 14-17.
