Lancaster, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/25/2017 -- ImageFIRST Healthcare Laundry Specialists announced that they donated almost 1,000 backpacks to children in need this past July through their annual Backpack Donation Drive.
The purpose of the drive is to provide children in need with all the necessary supplies to go back to school and start the year successfully.
Participating ImageFIRST locations selected an organization or charity of their choice to donate backpacks and school supplies to. Each organization provided a list with the specific materials they needed to fill the backpacks.
The materials requested included school supplies such as composition/spiral notebooks, pencils, tissues, scissors, pencil cases, glue sticks/glue, rulers, folders, water bottles, hand sanitizer, tape, and crayons/colored pencils.
The ImageFIRST offices purchased all the backpacks and associates were responsible for purchasing the materials on the lists that were given to them from the organizations. This drive took place throughout the entire month of July, giving associates enough time to gather the donations and put the backpacks together to deliver them to their selected organization before the start of the school year.
Many ImageFIRST locations throughout the United States participated in the drive, with most locations donating at least 50 backpacks, and some donating well over 100. The Lancaster office donated 192 backpacks to Hands Across the Street, the North Carolina team donated 144 to Union Hill Elementary and Fairview Elementary, Atlanta associates donated 100 to Foster Cares, and the Corporate Office in King of Prussia donated 100 to Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia.
