The quarterly volunteering day took an unexpected turn that reportedly had an impact on all associates who participated in the event.
The ImageFIRST Ft. Myers office set aside a day for their associates to volunteer at their local Habitat for Humanity. More than providing medical scrubs and uniforms, ImageFIRST locations from Las Vegas to Puerto Rico also participate in quarterly giving activities.
About a month before the event took place, ImageFIRST Ft. Myers had welcomed new associate Yaisy Sejas Serpa to their team. The unexpected turn came when Ms. Serpa learned about the upcoming Habitat for Humanity event. To the surprise of the managers, she announced that she was a recipient of the Habitat for Humanity efforts, and that she was receiving her own house this Mother's Day from them. She also explained how she volunteers many hours of her time to the organization and was excited to join ImageFIRST's team for the event.
From that point on, the community giving event felt very different to the associates, according to the office manager, Wendy. She stated, "We all felt a bit more connected to the program, having one of our own associates benefiting from it."
