Miami, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/25/2017 -- ImageFIRST Healthcare Laundry Specialists is currently holding their annual Nation-Wide Backpack Donation Drive for the third year in a row. During this drive, the individual locations of ImageFIRST throughout the United States fill backpacks with school supplies to send to students. The purpose of this drive is to supply children in need with all materials they need to go back to school this fall ready to succeed.
Participating ImageFIRST locations, including ImageFIRST Miami, choose which organization in need they would like to send the backpacks to. The Corporate Office decided to donate their backpacks to children in Kindergarten through 6th grade at The Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia.
The organization that each location chooses will provide a list of requested materials to fill the backpacks with based off of the children's' unique needs. Supplies requested typically include composition books, spiral books, pencils, tissues, scissors, pencil cases, glue, rulers, folders, hand sanitizer, tape, crayons/colored pencils, and more. The local office manager of each participating location circulates this list to associates along with a designated drop-off spot for the supplies.
Associates are only responsible for purchasing supplies, while the ImageFIRST's local office purchases all backpacks. Associates can also request donations for supplies from family and friends.
This event kicked off on Monday, July 3rd and the final count of donations will take place on Monday, July 31st. ImageFIRST's goal for this year is to meet and surpass last year's donation of over 1,000 backpacks to local organizations.
