Medical students interviewed the staff members and observed injection and hand hygiene practices at 15 outpatient facilities in New Mexico. From there, they compiled their data to come up with the intriguing results. All in all, there was a 92 percent presence of recommended practices and policies taking place. Furthermore, "three hundred thirty hand hygiene observations revealed 33.9% use of alcohol­based hand rub, 29.1% use of soap and water, and 37.0% use of no hand hygiene."
