ImageFIRST Minneapolis Understands the Value of Infection Prevention

Minneapolis, MN -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/02/2016 -- ImageFIRST Minneapolis, the leading medical scrubs supplier in Edina, MN and nearby areas, is reminding people about the importance of infection prevention, in light of a recent article on the topic by the American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC).

According to the write-up, groups of medical student observers were involved in a survey which set out to track infection prevention in outpatient facilities and settings. The AJIC article concluded that assessments as such should be observed on a regular basis in outpatient facilities. The surveys came about in reaction to a number of infection outbreaks "due to lapses in infection prevention," the study said.

Medical students interviewed the staff members and observed injection and hand hygiene practices at 15 outpatient facilities in New Mexico. From there, they compiled their data to come up with the intriguing results. All in all, there was a 92 percent presence of recommended practices and policies taking place. Furthermore, "three hundred thirty hand hygiene observations revealed 33.9% use of alcoholbased hand rub, 29.1% use of soap and water, and 37.0% use of no hand hygiene."

ImageFIRST Minneapolis is known for taking infection prevention seriously, and provides outpatient healthcare facilities with laundry services that come backed up with their trademarked Triple BioShield Protection®, which ensures that up to 99.999 percent of pathogens will be killed in the wash process.
