Fort Myers, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/24/2017 -- ImageFIRST Healthcare Laundry Specialists' Corporate office volunteered at MANNA on June 23rd in Philadelphia, PA. Associates of ImageFIRST traveled from King of Prussia to downtown Philadelphia and spent half of the day working with other volunteers as part of the company's quarterly community giving events.
ImageFIRST provides linen management services, laundering, patient gowns, and hospital scrubs in Naples, FL, and other locations across the continental United States and Puerto Rico. As part of their company Purpose, each ImageFIRST location participates in quarterly community giving activities.
MANNA is a nonprofit organization that daily provides over 15,000 medically-appropriate, balanced meals, prepared by volunteers, to patients battling life-threatening illnesses. Thanks to MANNA, Philadelphia locals struggling with cancer, renal disease, HIV/AIDS or other serious illnesses can have a full three meals packed with nutrients to heal each day, seven days a week. To learn more about MANNA, prospective volunteers are encouraged to visit their website at http://www.mannapa.org/.
Before starting, the ImageFIRST associates were briefed on their tasks for the day. One of the chefs teaching them was featured on a cooking competition television show, which the associates stated being excited about. They then helped MANNA to ready the meals for the day by chopping approximately 500 pounds of onions and 300 pounds of broccoli, as well as assembling more than 200 sandwiches.
Magali Tranie, ImageFIRST's director of marketing, reflected on the event, stating, "As they often do, the associates carpooled and worked together, turning the community giving event into a team building event as well."
