Synopsis:
Reality is tested, and new life is breathed into the nightmare once again for Joshua Stone, when he is revisited by the same horrific being he encountered as a child, over two decades ago. There is reason for it being here, purpose for it stalking Joshua in the night. And the very foundations of humanity are shaken when Joshua has no choice but to find the answers.
As with any good novel, there is a twist. This being is actually kind and, after studying Joshua his entire life, finally wants to meet him with good intentions. However, his kind have a law that prohibits all contact with humans and a second being is now out to kill it for breaking the rules. Oh yes….this second being wants to kill Joshua, too.
“What ensues is a quest where both Joshua and the kind being must fight all of the evil that comes their way, head-on,” says Lawson. “Of course, Joshua has been terrified of this first being for years, but finally learns that it is kind. The bad news is that the being broke the law and must be obliterated; with Josh also being killed for knowing that the beings exist.”
Continuing, “Everyone had childhood fears, and my narrative explores the fact that they may not be quite so childish after all. Okay, my readers are unlikely to have these strange beings appear in their window during a storm, but my narrative will cause them to turn the last page with plenty to think about in the real world.”
Even though it’s his debut novel, Lawson is embracing all opportunities.
“I’ve diligently built up a strong social media following and enjoy interacting with my audience.
