Flagstaff, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/17/2014 -- On October 20, Apple shared its running fourth-quarter earnings which impressed a lot of investors worldwide. It was noted however that the sales for the iPad which is Apple’s flagship tablet had failed to astonish investors. Since the iPad’s launch in April 2010, the shipments of iPad had fell year over year for the third consecutive quarter with a 13 per cent decline rate to 12.3 million units. The iPad’s revenue of $5.3 billion came lower as compared to the $6.6 billion revenue of Mac for the first time.

Microsoft which is the creator of Windows Tablets also announced its profit shares on October 23 just three days after Apple’s announcement. The company revealed their first-quarter earnings disclosing that the sale of their Surface tablet had more than doubled year over year successively up to $908 million. Microsoft attributed the increase in sales to people’s interest to an affordable windows tablet in the market.

There are numerous available affordable windows tablets in the market. Padnews, a Chinese site announced that a company named Emdoor is now shipping a $65 Windows 8.1 device called the EM-18170.
