Warsaw, Poland -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/13/2014 -- InputStick is a wireless USB receiver (similar to one that comes with wireless mouse), that can be paired with any Bluetooth-enabled Android device and controlled by applications. With InputStick a SmartPhone can become wireless USB mouse, keyboard, gamepad and so on. This allows apps to: type, move mouse pointer, click, scroll, control multimedia playback and games. InputStick is compatible with any USB host: PCs, game consoles, TV sticks, embedded systems, etc. In most scenarios it works out of the box, without the need to install additional software, drivers or modify system settings.
InputStick acts as a proxy between an Android device and a USB host. Depending on configuration obtained from Android application, it can present itself as almost any kind of USB device. Since InputStick is physically plugged into USB port, host cannot tell the difference between real USB device (for example: a keyboard) and InputStick.
There will be several InputStick-compatibe applications available for free: Remote Controller, Password Manager, Presentation Remote, Barcode Scanner, Gamepad. To use InputStick, one will have to install InputStick Utility app on his/her Android device. It will guide them step-by-step through pairing process, allow to manage all their InputStick devices, upgrade firmware if necessary (via Bluetooth) and provide background service responsible for communication between apps and InputStick. Available Android API will allow anyone to use InputStick in his/her own applications.
InputStick has been under development for almost a year now. The working prototype is almost ready to go into production any day now. Funds raised from this campaign will be utilized to start the production of InputStick.
This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its goal. Funding duration: December 30, 2013 - February 09, 2014 (11:59pm PT).
