Jan Paulussen, Creator of DIY Soda Can Solar Collector, Launches Kickstarter Campaign

Broechem, Belgium -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/18/2016 -- Jan Paulussen is the creator of the DIY Soda Can Solar Collector kit that allows users to create a smartphone controlled solar collector out of recycled soda cans.  The kits include various components that allow the user to create his or her own solar collector and generate free power to lower energy bills.  Now, Paulussen has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to produce and distribute these DIY kits.

According to Paulussen, "The hot air produced by the DIY Soda Can Solar Collector can be used to heat a house or school every day when there is some sun, even if it is freezing outside.  This helps users to lower utility bills as well as their own CO2 footprints.  It also vents the building without energy loss. In the summer, it can work in reverse, thus cooling a building. When the collector is used at night the output air is around 4 degrees Celsius lower than the environmental temperature."

The SolarAir is a solar heat collector that has been made for complete DIY methods using very low-cost materials.  Relying primarily on recycled soda cans, the system is fully open source and operable from any internet browser that works with any smartphone, tablet or PC.  A complete description of the system can be found at  http://www.solarair.livotel.com/

As seen at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/77305755/diy-soda-can-solar-collector, the Kickstarter campaign offers pledge levels from €1 to €86, with rewards including frames, optocouplers, electronic PCBs and other components.
