Joy Reiche Seeks Indiegogo Funding to Support Pendo Kenia Kids

Joy Reiche believes that sustainability leads to the way towards independence. She is looking to raise $24,000 via Indiegogo to support one thousand orphaned children and start a sustainable community business.

Berlin, Germany -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/17/2015 -- Joy Reiche is the founder of Pendo Kenia e.V, a non-profit organization that she started in Germany to support her father's non-profit organization "Forum for Orphans Malindi" in Kenya. Since many years, Joy has been inspired and influenced by her father's love, care, and spirited tenacity to help underprivileged children. Since 2003, Joy's father has helped over 2,500 orphaned and deprived children by providing them education and food.

Since the creation of Pendo Kenia in 2011, the father-daughter duo has built nine primary schools in the rural areas to provide education, love, and other absolute necessities to the children. However, Joy believes there is still a lot of work to be done. Many of their schools need immediate renovation because they are either damaged or structurally unsafe. Many children are badly in need of special health care. Also, there are communities that need water pipelines to be installed.

Joy's primary goal is

- To have nine permanent primary school buildings with washrooms and toilets and one boarding secondary school for the older children.
- To support the surrounding community with clean water initiatives and sustainable farming practices.

In order to become financially independent, Joy has established a sustainable plan for her organization, the surrounding communities, and the teachers. Her plan is to start a community- run and sustainably operated Moringa, Neem and vegetable farm business in 2016. However, Joy needs funding support to get to this point. She has just started an Indiegogo campaign to raise $24,000 for this campaign. Proceeds from Indiegogo will be used to pay for

- Living costs for one year in Kenya and Germany
- Organizing permaculture workshops in Kenya
- Four flights to Kenya
