Karen Kamenetsky Seeks Crowdfunding via Kickstarter for "With This Flame" an Album of All New Hanukkah Music

Right on Time for Hanukkah 2014; New Hanukkah songs about dreidels & menorahs, latkes, the Macabees & More.

Budd Lake, NJ -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/31/2014 -- The classic Hanukkah songs everyone knows are enjoyed each and every year for their warmth, joy and inspiration. Now Karen Kamenetsky is aiming to expand the hit parade of established Hanukkah songs with eight new additions to make Hanukkah as happy and joyous as ever.

With the album producer on the team, the recording studio selected, three songs already completed, another five well on their way, and the CD jacket art in the draft phase, Karen has turned to crowdfunding to help finish the project and bring this new music to Jews all over the world in time for Hanukkah 2014.

The new Hanukkah songs Karen is working on, with more than a dozen talented musicians in the studio, include:

Spin The Dreidel: Tells the folk tale of the little dreidel used to hide Torah study from the soldiers of Antiochus. The dreidel may have been invented in the 1930's, but Karen feels the folk tale makes a better song.

Judah Maccabee Standing Tall: A tribute to the hero of the holiday and a celebration of its beautiful rituals and traditions.

The Small Jewel of December: "It is a festival of light, a moment at the darkest time of year, when eight small candles in a row, remind us might does not make right."

With This Flame: A meditation on the meaning Hanukkah might have in our lives today, and a call to action.

Zot Hanukkah: Inspired by a sermon given by Rabbi Scott Roland about a mystical tradition that says T'Shuvah is possible until the eighth day of Hanukkah.

Sufganiyot: A New Orleans jazzy celebration of the jelly doughnut, complete with tuba, banjo, ukulele and clarinet.

Happy Hanukkah Potatoes: A sing-along children's song.

I'm A Dreidel: More sing-along fun for kids!

If Karen’s crowdfunding campaign is successfully funded, her backers will be able to enjoy this new music, via download or on CD, in time for Hanukkah.

This Kickstarter project ends on November 11th, 2014.
