Kickstarter Launched to Raise Capital for Mass Production of New LapPad

Product Design Team behind New Mobile Workstation Aims to Change the Way Professionals Take Their Work with Them

Montreal, QC -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/12/2015 -- The team behind the LapPad, a highly functional workstation and mobile desk, announced today that they have launched a new Kickstarter campaign to raise business capital. Funds will primarily be used to access larger volumes of responsibly sourced bamboo sheets to support the mass production of the desks, and keep the retail cost of the product down.

"There's a new way to take your work with you," said Christian Minnetian, founder of LapPad. "Made from strong, smooth, responsibly sourced bamboo, the LapPad features an ergonomic carrying handle, laptop ventilation, a dock for multiple devices, and even ports for charging cables. The design is unique as it allows for multi-device operation allowing you to maximize your workflow."

Fueled by the falling price of smartphones and tablets, an estimated 200 million people in the United States, Canada and Latin America are mobile workers, many of whom are no longer required to be tethered to a traditional desk. The LapPad provides a solution that uniquely accommodates the modern day professional who works on the go, utilizing multiple smart devices to increase productivity.

The LapPad is constructed to work with the technology that most business professionals already use. It features a mouse pad with left or right-hand options and two docks for tablets up to 10-inches and smartphones up to 6-inches, depending on their thickness. The LapPad has been tested to fit nine popular types of smartphones and tablets, including all versions of the iPad, and recent versions of the iPhone, iPod touch, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy S series and the HTC One.

Made from a well-finished three-quarter inch bamboo sheet, the LapPad not only reduces the heat generated from laptops and smart devices, it effectively absorbs the heat, ensuring the comfort of the user. Weighing only three pounds, the workstation is easily transportable.

The team behind the LapPad has established a crowdfunding goal of $4,500. Pledges of $1 will be rewarded with a personal thank you email. Pledges of $79 or more will be rewarded with a LapPad guaranteed for delivery one week before Christmas. Participants that pledge $99 or more will have an opportunity to have their LapPads laser engraved with their initials, name, or favorite quote. The mobile workstations ship to anywhere in the world.
