Bluegrass Heritage Foundation Supported by Lamar Hunt Jr. and the Loretto Foundation

The Bluegrass Heritage Foundation, supported directly by the Loretto Foundation and Lamar Hunt Jr., will hold a music festival next month. The Bloomin' Bluegrass Festival and Chili Cookoff is free and will last two days in Farmers Branch, TX.

 

Farmers Branch, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/21/2015 -- Lamar Hunt Jr. and the Loretto Foundation continue to support the non-profit Bluegrass Heritage Foundation and their upcoming Bloomin' Bluegrass Festival and Chili Cookoff. The festival will be held the weekend of October 16-17 at Farmers Branch Historical Park in Farmers Branch, TX.

The Bloomin' Bluegrass Festival and Chili Cookoff is an annual event held to share bluegrass music at no cost to fans and their families, no tickets are required to enter the event. Entry to the festival is free including two days of musical entertainment, access to the kid-zone and access to all of the Farmers Branch Historical Park. An art's and crafts marketplace and concession area will be open for shopping throughout the event.

The event will feature eight live performances with some playing both Friday and Saturday of the festival. Performers selected for the event are managed by the Bluegrass Heritage foundation, whose mission includes promoting bluegrass music in Texas and preserving it's heritage in America.

A chili cookoff will be held at the Bloomin' Bluegrass Festival on the second day of the event, October 17, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Registration to participate in the chili cookoff is $20, with the event officially sanctioned by the Chili Appreciation Society International. Tasting cups will be available for public purchase at $3 per cup to taste all entries in the People's Choice category.

Proceeds from the chili cookoff will be donated to the Friends of the Farmers Branch Historical Park and the Bluegrass Heritage Foundation.

Lamar Hunt, Jr. founded and participates in the Loretto Companies group that includes the Kansas City based private charitable organization Loretto Foundation, LLC. One of the major goals of the foundation, besides making contributions to charities, is to educate the public about what the Christian faith has to say about business and our work in the world.
