Former KC Symphony Flutist Lamar Hunt Jr. actively supports the symphony through contributions from the Loretto Foundation, LLC. The KC Symphony preformed a free Labor day concert in Shawnee Mission park September 7.
Kansas City, MO -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/22/2015 -- Lamar Hunt Jr., founder of the Loretto Companies Group, continues to support the KC Symphony through the Loretto Foundation, LLC. Hunt previously performed with the KC Symphony for 9 seasons and believes in ongoing support through the foundation after his departure. The symphony played Pops in the Park, a collection of well known classics, for free on Labor Day in the Shawnee Mission Park of Shawnee, KS.
This year the event featured pre-concert music at 6:00 pm from the Youth Symphony of Kansas City. The KC Symphony performance started at 7:00 pm and featured the star-spangled banner, superman, and other favorites for the enjoyment of families in a picnic style event.
Lawn chairs and blankets were allowed at the Theater in the Park within the Shawnee Mission park, gates opened for the event at 5:00 pm. A musical instrument petting zoo was open on site for additional pre-concert entertainment.
