Lamar Hunt Jr. continues to support Resurrection Catholic School and Catholic education in Kansas City through the Loretto Foundation. This year the school was awarded the Catholic Education Foundation's School of Excellence award.
Kansas City, MO -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/24/2015 -- Through a 2013 financial contribution from the Loretto Foundation and Lamar Hunt Jr., students at Resurrection Catholic School were able to continue their education in a comfortable environment. The school has continued it's faith based k-12 education and won the Catholic Education Foundation "School of Excellence" award.
Since their opening, Resurrection Catholic School has won the "School of Excellence" award three times for excellent staff faculty. The school's teachers and staff continue to show their dedication to their faith by spending time traveling to sacred places, two teachers visited the Holy Land and Jerusalem this summer. Another of the school's teachers will visit the Pope as he visits the United States this year.
The Resurrection Catholic School welcomed students back this year with donations of school supplies from Saint Thomas Aquinas National Honor Society members. The Saint Thomas Aquinas members collected the school supplies to help students who would not be able to provide their own supplies.
The Catholic Education Foundation of Kansas will celebrate all Catholic education at their annual Gaudeamus, October 24th at the Overland Park Convention Center. The cocktail and dinner event will also feature a special service award to Catholic School Educators.
