Lamar Hunt Jr. Supports Cristo Rey Columbus High School Through Loretto Foundation

Lamar Hunt Jr. and the Loretto Foundation continue to support Catholic schools through their contribution to the Cristo Rey Catholic School of Columbus, OH. The high school recently held it's second annual Garden Party to show off new additions to the property.

Columbus, OH -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/22/2015 -- Lamar Hunt Jr. supported the addition of a new high school to the Cristo Rey network by donating $100,000 to the cost of opening the Cristo Rey Columbus High School in Columbus, OH. The 2013 donation allowed the school to open up for students in the 2013-2014 school year. The school recently held it's second annual Garden Party to entertain families and raise funds for the school.

The September 19th event featured musical entertainment from the Dwight Lenox Band for guests to enjoy as they walked through the Topiary Park gardens on the school grounds. Guests were served refreshments and appetizers provided by Cameron Mitchell Premier Events during the event while a dance floor was opened up for families and students to enjoy themselves.

Tickets and sponsorship were sold to help the school continue to educate students effected by poverty and a lack of quality education choices. The high school offers college-prep and work-study programs to students from families who normally cannot afford the Catholic school.

The Cristo Rey High School second annual Garden Party ended the fundraising night with a student speaker and tours of the school. In the last year the high school has continued renovation with new science labs, rooms for art and music, as well as a brand new chapel.

Rita and Lamar Hunt Jr. were made honorary chairs of Cristo Rey Columbus High School after their 2013 donation to the Cristo Rey Network. With his success in Real Estate and music, Lamar Hunt Jr. continues to be a role model for the students who attend the school he helped open.
