Lamar Hunt Jr. Supports Growing Catholic Radio Network

The Loretto foundation with support from Lamar Hunt Jr. continues to support the growing Catholic Radio Network. The network recently participated in the pitching for priests event which raised money for diocese.

 

Kansas City, MO -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/26/2015 -- The ongoing support of Lamar Hunt Jr. through the Loretto Foundation continues to aid the growth of the Catholic Radio Network. Sponsors, volunteers, and fans gathered this past June to witness the Catholic Radio Network participate in the fundraising event "Pitching for Priests," which raised over $25,000.

T-Bones Stadium Community America Ballpark in Kansas City, KS hosted two Catholic Radio teams in the 2nd annual Catholic Radio Network softball fundraiser for priests. The Priests and Seminarians Archdiocese of Kansas City, KS team went to bat against the Priests and Seminarians Diocese of Kansas City – St. Joseph for the vocation fundraising event. Kansas City – St. Joseph took away the win 17-12.

Active support from the Loretto Foundation allows the Catholic Radio Network to continue growing it's 11 station nonprofit and host fundraising events. Catholic priests and parishes were directly supported by the funds raised in the recent Catholic Radio softball event, helping to grow and support the Catholic community of Kansas and Missouri.

The softball game hosted by the Catholic Radio Network saw more than 2,500 people attend it's first year and estimated more attended for the 2nd annual game. Advanced ticket sales added thousands of dollars to the overall number of funds raised, giving both teams and their vocation offices up to $15,000.

Lamar Hunt Jr. believes in aiding the Loretto foundation with financial and personal support to keep traditional faith values accessible in America. The Catholic Radio Network has been broadcasting their mission and message since 2004 and now operates 11 stations in three states.

The first Catholic Radio Network, KEXS 1090 AM, began operating in 2004 in Kansas City, MO on May 18th.
