Lamar Hunt Jr.'s Mavericks Player Tyler Barnes Awarded Player of the Week

Lamar Hunt Jr.'s Missouri Mavericks were awarded the Sher-Wood ECHL player of the week honor thanks to Tyler Barnes. Barnes is the leading point-scorer for the Mavericks.


Kansas City, MO -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/12/2015 -- Lamar Hunt Jr.'s Missouri Mavericks announced that their leading point-scorer, Tyler Barnes, was declared the official Sher-Wood ECHL Player of the Week. Barnes was player of the week from October 26th through November 1st.

With a combined 2 goal per game average in the last three games, 25 year old Barnes has helped the Mavericks will multiple games as their top performing point-scorer. He has a healthy point scoring history of experience in the ECHL with over 70 games played for two teams and more than 80 combined points scored. Barnes currently plays for the Mavericks in addition to being contracted by the AHL Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Peter Sakaris from the Wichita Thunder was a close runner up in the player of the week competition. The Mavericks will play their rival team the Wichita Thunder in the next Independence Cup Series game, Friday November 13th.
