The hearing, which will take place on the 16th-floor hearing room at the William Donald Schaefer Tower in Baltimore, MD, is to consider the report from the Public Service Commission's Technical Staff. Their report summarizes the data from the 2015 Maryland Supplier Diversity Program Annual Reports.
The hearing will also take place to hear any comments from each reporting company on their applicable portion of the staff report and discuss with them the status of the company's efforts to implement the Memorandum of Understanding. This includes establishing goals, collecting data, resolving disputes and much more.
The Memorandum of Understanding is aimed at providing women, minority and service disabled veteran-owned businesses and nonprofit organizations greater opportunities for participations and competition for contracts and subcontracts with public utilities.
