Microsoft to Launch the Sale of Xbox One S in 25 Countries on August 2

Microsoft is going to bring the smaller S version of Xbox One to the market on August 2, 2016. Altogether 25 different countries will be the first spots to witness the sale of the first console that supports 4K Ultra HD video.

Shenzhen, Guangdong -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/20/2016 -- Microsoft is to kick off sale of its new Xbox One S on August 2, 2016 across 25 different countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and the US. People in other countries and regions will access the new console later this year.

The Xbox One S will be available in three different capacities, and of course, different capacities are priced differently. The first one is a 500GB version with a price of $299, and the second one is a 1TB version priced at $349 while the third costs $399 with the capacity of 2TB. However, there is only one version available next month. According to Matt Lapsen, general manager for Xbox Devices Marketing, only the 2TB version will be unveiled on August 2 while the other two will be launched later this year.

People can visit the local Microsoft, Best Buy or GameStop store for purchasing the new console after Xbox One S is listed, but since "availability is limited and demand is high", Microsoft welcomes people to preorder these three models through Microsoft, Best Buy, Amazon and GameStop. Anyone who preorders the 2TB version of the console will be able to grab it on the coming August 2.

The Xbox One S is the first console that supports 4K Ultra HD Video. The console is smaller yet supports 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray discs and 4K streaming services. Integrating game console with Blu-ray player, Microsoft's new gadget may perform better than many game consoles like Sony PlayStation 3 and many 4K Blu-ray players like Leawo 4K Blu-ray Player.

By supporting 4K (3820x2160-pixel) resolution, the Xbox One S will display more vibrant colors and darker blacks. The higher resolution works with movies and TV shows natively but will also support games by upscaling them to 4K. To experience 4K feature, a 4K compatible TV is a must-have thing. Most likely, those who are looking for a 4K Blu-ray player and a game console would be attracted by the Xbox One S as those two features are equipped into a single device. The new console also supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) for video and gaming, which means certain games will look better due to a higher contrast ratio.
