Mindful Stress & Anxiety Management Center Announces 8 Week Group Mindfulness Meditation Training Session for Beginners


Bala Cynwyd, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/15/2014 -- When going through a transition in life, or having trouble handling a stressful event and circumstance, many individuals are seeking assistance to help them tackle these unwanted obstacles in their lives. As a prominent center for anxiety treatment in Philadelphia, MSAM (Mindful Stress & Anxiety Management) is pleased to announce they have created an 8-week course to help individuals suffering from chronic anxiety sustain a state of wellness. To take part in the sessions, there is a fee of $300, and a savings of $50 if registration is completed at least one month in advance.

Those looking for training will have the option of joining any of three groups, whichever provides them the most convenience. Through three locations, there are groups that meet Monday evenings in Bala Cynwyd, Thursday evenings in King of Prussia, and Sunday mornings in Philadelphia. The 8-week course takes place in a group setting, and educates participants on the value of meditation and provides them with the means to cope with anxiety and stress, regaining control over life.

Mindful Stress & Anxiety Management founder, Harold Kirby, has provided the training necessary through guided meditations and blogs on the website for those that are unable to take the course. About the sessions, Kirby said, “The groups are modeled after MBSR group training, but are different in that they use more cognitive techniques and are primarily geared for individuals suffering mild to moderate chronic anxiety.”

In the future, Kirby is interested in establishing an 8-week mindfulness course designed for the general public to gain insight into the power of meditation as a solution for living a valued life in a hectic world. He is currently in the process of developing courses specifically geared for his own clients suffering OCD. As a third wave of mental health treatment, Kirby integrates mindfulness-based treatments into his own practices.
