Home of Wealth’s2014 Minimalist Writing and Photo Contest topics an b d contest schedule was released to the public January 1st and is available for entry. Entries can be received through the product page on our site. Entries can be written (500-3000 words) or a thought provoking photo (minimum of 5 mega pixels) that talks about a specific contest topic. Our winners will be awarded:
1.$500 cash
2.Entry will be published in our blog and distributed to HoW's social media outlets.
3.Personal interview about author's minimalist journey conducted by a HoW staff writer.
4.Winner will be featured in a press release distributed to all major US PR outlets.
5.There is provision for outstanding entries in theHonourable Mention List that will be published on our blog and social media outlets.
The contest rules and general disclosures are applicable to both writing and photo and they are as follow:
1.Submission must be in English.
2.Essay or photo must relate to the theme (see product descriptions) and based on a thorough understanding of minimalism.
3.Essay or photo must be original work.
4.Essay can be no longer than 3000 words.
5.Photo entries must be high resolution and no less than 5 megapixel quality.
6.Essay can be any form of non-fiction or fiction but must follow the form of a diary, journal, blog, memoir, or essay. That is to say...we want real stories about real life...from one. If an author chooses fiction, the entry must be credited as such.
7.Once entered, essay will become a part of Home of Wealth's public facing content but Home of Wealth believes in freedom of speech and is not easily offended. We draw the line at hate speech, close-minded bigotry and every other type of message that detracts from our utilitarian minimalist goals. Those entries will be removed.
8.Registration to Home of Wealth is required to enter the writing contest along with a judging and entry fee ($10) which will allow us to post story to the public and keep the riff-raff out of the competition.
