Phoenix, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/21/2016 -- Miracles from Heaven in theaters March 16, 2016

Ann Beal chats with Kevin and Christy Beam about growing up in Texas, their college years, their relationship, their careers, and how they struggled emotionally, physically and financially, as their daughter became sicker and sicker with a rare and incurable disease that was suddenly healed by a terrifying, 30 foot, head-first fall inside of a rotted out cottonwood tree.

The movie, MIRACLES FROM HEAVEN, is based on the incredible true story of the Beam family and memoir of Christy Beam (Jennifer Garner). When Christy discovers her 10-year-old daughter Anna (Kylie Rogers) has a rare, incurable disease, she becomes a ferocious advocate for her daughter's healing as she searches for a solution. As Christy searches she befriends Angela Bradford (Queen Latifah), who helps bring everyday joy and hope back to the Beam family. After Anna has a freak accident, an extraordinary miracle unfolds in the wake of her dramatic rescue that leaves medical specialists mystified, her family's faith restored and their community inspired. Also starring Martin Henderson, John Carroll Lynch and Eugenio Derbez. Directed by Patricia Riggen. Screenplay by Randy Brown based on the book by Christy Beam. Produced by Joe Roth, T.D. Jakes and DeVon Franklin.

Christy shares with Ann how she kept notes all along the way medically for her daughter's sake, and emotionally in a journal, which allowed her to compile all the information into her book "Miracles From Heaven: A Little Girl and Her Amazing Story of Healing" which became a best seller. But she knew making a movie based on her book meant the family would have to again face all of the pain, anguish, doubt and fear they lived through as Annabelle fought for her life and that she recounted as she wrote the book.

Kevin and Christy express how hard it was to go through those emotions again during the writing of the book, but they believed it had to be done and would have been selfish to keep the story to themselves.

That decision proved to be wise as Christy shares she has heard from so many people around the world who told her that her daughter's story has affected them deeply. All of the positive responses have been a confirmation for her that writing the book was the correct thing to do.
