Sugar Land, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/09/2017 -- International arts charity MMBF Trust has completed another record breaking year ensuring that they made their mark by distributing 312 grants and scholarships and working with over 60 partner organisations across the world to deliver their arts and film support programmes.
The MMBF Trust (Matthew Martino Benevolent Fund) is a UK based international charity that supports filmmakers, actors and individuals studying or working in performing arts worldwide through training grants and scholarships, funding for first time filmmakers and provides sponsorship for film related events such as film festivals and film award ceremonies. We also support aspiring entrepreneurs by providing business start-up grants, mentoring and free business courses.
MMBF's end of year report highlighted how £147,000 ($225,000) was distributed throughout the year 2016 which represented a 30% increase from the previous year whilst they handed out a record amount of scholarships.
Outgoing Chairman Matthew C. Martino told us "It's been a very successful year for the Trust, we have sadly had to drop some programmes and schemes that weren't working for us but our net grants and scholarship giving is up and we have also seen a more healthy relationship with partners now spanning in over 12 countries around the world'.
The charity founded back in 2013 made their mark with their signature scheme the MMBF Rising Star Award which provides the winner with a prize money and various other perks and have in previous years teamed up with schools and colleges to run arts days, in 2016 however their focus was on education which is where they spent their time and resources.
