New GDPR: Companies Need Expert Data Protection Officers in Order to Comply with the New Regulation

Dachau, Germany -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/27/2018 -- With less than 70 days until the enforcement of EU's new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is referred to as the biggest change in data protection in the last 20 years, the demand for expert external data protection officers (DPO) grows. German Association for Data Protection is one of the leaders in German and European data protection and as such offers a great service regarding external data protection officers.

Hiring an expert data protection officer is of utmost importance for all businesses affected by the new Regulation. And not only because the data protection officer is viewed as a cornerstone of data protection compliance, but because even with outsourcing the DPO role, businesses still remain fully responsible for complying with the new Regulation, and if in breach, can be fined up to 20 million EUR or, if higher, 4% of the global annual turnover. So, it's no joking matter, and companies must make sure they have skilled and experienced people handling the job.

External data protection officers from German Association for Data Protection, as their client's strong companions, assist the management on various stages, starting from the audit through data erasure, on-line training and creation of data protection manual, to providing necessary expert opinions. Offers are tailored to fit the specific needs of each individual company, depending on its structure, core activity etc.

By hiring an external data protection officer from German Association for Data Protection, companies can rest assure they are in compliance with the new GDPR and can concentrate on what is most important to them: their core activities.

The General Data Protection Regulation takes effect as of May 25 2018 and applies to all international companies that process data of data subject residing in the EU, relating to activities of offering goods or services (weather payment is required or not) and monitoring the behaviour that takes place in the EU, regardless of the company's location.
