E-readers continued to be shaped in Poland with local and international brands introducing novelty devices every year. Many of them are low-cost units and since the average user requires only limited functionality from an e-reader, they are quite popular which drives the average price down. In addition, the average Kindle price on Allegro was driven down by long-lasting discounts on these products in Germany.

Industry Prospects

Portable players will gradually lose volume sales over the forecast period. However, it must be underlined that such a loss will be a result of rapid sales decline of portable media players which will experience a retail volume CAGR of -14%. Portable media players will not be able to compete with smartphones, tablets and wearable electronics since it cannot offer anything above the functionality of these devices.
