Noted LI Author, Robyn Schneider Joins Alec Baldwin for Hamptons Benefit

“Running is the only activity where the boys are not bound by their disability and are truly happy.” – Robyn Schneider

Long Island, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/31/2015 -- Long Island native, author and mother of twin autistic sons Alex and Jamie, Robyn Schneider, graciously accepted the offer to be one of a select group of noted authors at the 11th annual Authors Night, the premier literary event of the Hamptons summer season. Authors Night Co-Founding Chairs Alec Baldwin and Barbara Goldsmith selected a distinguished group of authors for this year's event. Authors Night is held annually to benefit the East Hampton Library.

Robyn and Allan Schneider were like most young couples in love – full of ambition and an unquenchable thirst for life. Being a mother was always a dream of Robyn's; so when her beautiful twin sons were born, she and her husband felt truly blessed. They were happy babies that smiled and laughed all the time – until one day they stopped. At 21 months old, both Alex and Jamie were diagnosed with severe Autism. They grew to become non-verbal with extremely challenging behaviors. Through the nearly unbearable pain, Robyn set into motion a plan that would assure her sons enjoyed an endurable happiness.

Robyn's highly acclaimed new book, 'Silent Running: Our Family's Journey to the Finish Line with Autism,' is an inspirational story of perseverance, resilience, and the power of unremitting love; as told through the eyes of a loving mother. Robyn invites readers into her living room as her family overcomes the challenges of autism, her husband's Multiple Sclerosis and even her own aggressive breast cancer. She shares how her family found running to be a panacea for many of the ills they faced and a way for a family to bond. Silent Running was released by Triumph Books on April 1st.
